About: Locals will know all about The Garth, which is a famous viewpoint with a small peak just 8 miles outside Cardiff's city centre. The Garth is renown for its glorious views not just over the city of Cardiff, but also stretching as far as the Severn. Garth Hill can be seen all the way from Weston Super Mare on a clear day, so you can see why it made our top viewpoints list. Don't forget your hiking boots though, as it's quite a climb!

About: Penarth Head is one of Cardiff's many jutting headland points, situated just a few miles from Cardiff's city centre. Penarth Head's highest point is home to the lovely St Augustine's Church, which has been used as a landmark to help navigate seafarers for many, many years. Penarth Head offers spectacular views over Cardiff Bay and the Severn towards Weston Super Mare. We recommend you have a little explore of the coastal path whilst you're there, too, as they also offer some fabulous views.

About: The Medieval Cardiff Castle is a fascinating historical site with over 2,000 years of history, and it's safe to say that the views aren't bad either! It's situated on a mound in central Cardiff and offers gorgeous views over the city, Cardiff Docks, the Bristol Channel and the beautiful Glamorgan countryside. About: If it's coastal views you're after, then we can guarantee Cardiff Bay Barrage will tick every box! This gorgeous walkway begins at Cardiff Docks and takes you all the way across Cardiff Bay to Penarth Marina, which is 1.1km - perfect for a short stroll. There's plenty to see across the bay and into the channel, so don't forget your camera to catch those all-important snaps. We recommend you have a good read about the history of the Barrage too - it's certainly an interesting one!

About: Llandaff Cathedral is one of the most impressive landmarks Cardiff has to offer, and if the interior and exterior of the church isn't impressive enough, the Bell Tower tours reveal truly remarkable views over Cardiff - making it an excellent viewpoint! It is one of Cardiff's tallest buildings, standing at 59.4m high, so we can guarantee the best view around here. Please note that Bell Tower Tours require booking in advance.
