Insole Court

About: Insole Court is a Victorian Manor in Cardiff built by two generations of the Insole family between 1856 and 1909. It is a stunning estate with beautiful trees and woodland surrounding the areas, perfect for a family day out, especially in the autumn and winter months!
You can find a plethora of conkers surrounding the floors underneath the grand Horse Chestnut trees at the main drive, as you walk further into the woods you will also find squirrels pottering around eating the conkers too! There’s parking available in the grounds, as well as toilet facilities and the aforementioned cafe if you get a little peckish after conker hunting!
Llandaff Fields

About: Llandaff Fields is part of an extensive network of grade 2 listed parkland, in the heart of the city this stunning parkland holds a range of sports pitches, tree lined pedestrian avenues of mature trees and toilets and a refreshments kiosk!
This is one of the best places to go conker hunting in the cardiff city centre as when the autumn months appear the tree lined avenues become a blanket of autumnal colours as leaves begin to fall, meaning the conkers fall with them as the trees become bare!
Bute Park

About: Bute Park is Cardiff's biggest city centre park, with 130 acres of meadows, woodland and parkland to explore. Bute Park is the perfect place for spotting wildlife, hunting for sculptures, learning about the history of the park!
As it's Cardiff's biggest city centre park it makes the perfect hunting ground for conkers! The stunning park boasts a beautiful expansive woodland and picturesque walking routes which means you’ll certainly find conkers of all shapes and sizes as you explore the vastness of Bute Park!
Castell Coch

About: Castell Coch is not just known for its beautiful medieval stately castle, but also the surrounding woodlands which makes the perfect leisurely stroll. A castle has stood on this site since 1081, so there's plenty of history to explore whilst on your walk.
Being a stunning woodland area, it really is an autumnal paradise in the colder months as the trees become bare, the floors become flooded with an array of autumnal colours and conkers submerge the floors, it is the perfect place to take the kids for a spot of conker hunting!
Forest Farm Country Park

About: Forest Farm Country Park is an expansive woodland and nature reserve with rivers, woods, lakes and plenty of wildlife to spot.
Throughout the acres of wide open space that Forest Farm Country Park has to offer, you will find a selection of amazing conkers to pick, choose, and test the strength of as you fill up your pockets. Filled with stunning trees and autumnal flowers it really does make it a great place to head for an Autumn walk.
