There are also four purpose-built angling platforms on the River Ely just above Penarth Road suitable for disabled anglers. Please note that anglers must have a Cardiff Harbour Authority Fishing License and an Environment Agency Rod License to fish here (over 12s only).

Cefn Mably Lakes
Location: Cefn Mably, Cardiff CF3 6LP
About: Cefn Mably is a fishing complex made up of 8 different lakes situated between Cardiff and Newport, with 2 lakes specialising in carp fishing. This is an extremely popular fishing lake for all levels of anglers - beginners, families and experts. But don't worry, as there is plenty of space for everyone!

Hazelcourt Ponds
Location: Llysworney, near Cowbridge CF71 7NQ
About: Hazelwood Ponds is a fishing complex located 30 minutes outside of Cardiff near Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan. The ponds are made up of 6 fishing lakes with a wide variety of fish including Bream, Tench, Golden Tench, Roach and Rudd.

Seven Oaks Fishery
Location: Cowbridge Road, Pontyclun CF72 9JU
About: Seven Oaks is a fishery made up of two fantastic fishing lakes, one for beginners and one for coarse fishing, so this spot is suitable for all levels of anglers. The coarse lake is filled with Carp and Koi up to 20lb, Roach, Rudd, Tench and Bream of all sizes whilst the beginner's lake is filled with small coarse fish.

Wharf Fishery
Location: East Bute Dock, Atlantic Wharf, Cardiff
About: Wharf Fishery is a popular fishing spot for anglers not only due to its prime location in Cardiff Docks, but also because they are home to Wales’ largest Carp, which weighs a whopping 47lb. The Wharf holds a great deal of history too, so we recommend you have a read about it if you visit!
Prices: Please note that The Wharf Fishery only sell season membership tickets, rather than day tickets. A year membership is £250 with a £25 fee for new members.
