Best Autumn Netflix Watches

As the weather turns colder and activities become limited, there is nothing better than settling down at the weekend or even after work and indulging in a netflix series or movie! We have listed a few of the best on Netflix for this autumn...

The Fall

First airing in 2016, The Fall has seen a resurgence in popularity since appearing on Netflix and is the type of dark, suspenseful thriller that will have you clinging to the edge of your seat as you race through three seasons of intense murder mystery.

Set in Northern Ireland, this British crime drama follows the police hunt for serial killer Paul Spector [played by 50 Shades Of Grey star Jamie Dornan] as he sets out on a sadistic killing spree terrorising Belfast’s women whilst attempting to balance a chaotic family life.

If you’re looking for light-hearted fun then this definitely isn’t the right show for you, but as the cold weather approaches, this critically-acclaimed drama will give you a good excuse to not move from the sofa.

Enola Holmes

After rising to celebrity status starring as Eleven in the Stranger Things series, Millie Bobby Brown takes to the big screen in this unusual take on the Sherlock Holmes franchise.

Unlike the traditional screen transformations surrounding the fictional British detective, Enola Holmes is based around Sherlock and Mycroft’s sister Enola as she sets out on a daring mission across London in an attempt to track down her mother [Helena Bonham-Carter] whilst attempting to avoid capture.

This is a great family film that will leave you in fits of giggles and puzzling amazement as you invest yourself in the world of mystery and daring deductions.

Matilda

I think it’s fairly safe to say that 2020 has been a pretty rubbish year! So what better way to brighten up your Autumn than with some feel-good nostalgia in the shape of the 1996 blockbuster film, Matilda.

A favourite amongst families all around the world, this fantastical comedy will bring the entire household together as you laugh, cry, and dance around the sitting room as you follow Matilda [Mara Wilson] on her journey to find her forever home.

We’ve all watched this brilliant film before, but instead of looking for something new, why not re-live the magic of this all-time classic.

The Irishman

If you’re looking for a Hollywood blockbuster featuring some of cinemas biggest names then look no further than The Irishman. Directed by Martin Scorese, and starring Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci, just to name a few of the big name stars, The Irishman transports you to the world of organised crime in America during the 1950s.

With lots of profanity, violence, and the occasional cigarette-smoking, whiskey-drinking, gun-toting scene, this 2019 Netflix original earned recognition at last years Golden Globes and is claimed by many to be one of De Niro’s best pieces of work.

Grab your smoking jackets and lock yourself in for three hours of pure American action.

About Time

Now we couldn’t put together a list of must-watch Autumn Netflix shows without including at least one romantic film.

After all when the trees start to shed their leaves and the thermostat is turned up, there’s nothing better than wrapping yourself up in your duvet with a cup of hot chocolate and watching some tear-jerking romance. About Time offers just that.

Follow Tim [Domhnall Gleeson] whom after discovering he can travel in time decides to make his world a better place by getting a girlfriend [Rachel McAdams] and attempting to settle down. Something that is definitely easier said than done as you’ll find out.
