Cardiff and the surrounding areas are home to some stunning countryside walks with a host of exhilarating routes on your doorstep and further afield perfect for adventure seekers. From the stunning 130 acres of Bute Park to the gorgeous, scenic route of the Welsh Coastal path, a stroll in the great outdoors is one way of getting out the house and staying safe.
Many of Cardiff's walking routes includes sports courts and pitches to make your walk a little more exciting as well as public toilets and cafes for you to stop off and have a break!
Cardiff Castle
Cardiff Castle may not be open inside, however it is open as a public spae for you to walk around. sit and relax after hiking in the outer green beautiful setting of this area. The Castle cafe will be providing food and drink.
You and the kids will be enthralled by the outside castle walls, which are adorned with wild and exotic animal sculptures, and all the different national flags waving high in the air.
Visit the Farm
A trip to the farm is a favourite pastime and a great way to get out with the kids whilst staying safe and adhering to socially distanced guidelines. Looking out for all the different animals proves to be a fun activity and luckily enough Cardiff is situated perfectly to all surrounding farms.
You can visit Cefn Mably Farm Park which is suitable for all ages with great open space and the ability to meet and feed the farm animals, enjoy pony rides, and explore their outdoor adventure play areas throughout the winter.
